Product Packaging

Design Challenge

 

The challenge was to create packaging for BIC’s new line of office supplies. The purpose of these items is that their packaging can be used after the point of purchase. Competitors include Papermate who sells the same merchandise and offer eco-friendly solutions. The target audience is the home owner aged twenty five to sixty who is always in need of a pen or pencil, whether it be at home or work. 

 

Design Solution

 

The final product features packaging that is unique in shape and functional by nature. Each component shares a slanted element on the edge, a pattern along the sides, and an image of the product on the box. The type is legible from a distance to allow for an easy “grab-and-go” purchase. The BIC brand is established in the yellow used for the pattern and the logo implement on the box.
